Cassie's Back to School kids are already 3 weeks old! it is so hard to believe. these guys have their eyes open, their ears open, are barely walking like drunken sailors anymore. they are all able to wear ID collars safely, have tripled in size from their birth weight. they have had their first mush. their first bath & blow dry. their 1st face shave! we are doing daily sound exposure and their living area is about to get another upgrade!

Cassie's puppies are already in the Socialization Week One Stage. They are a little advanced for their age, so I'm hoping we will stay here for a while. They remain in this stage until the onset of their first fear period, which typically happens around 28 days of life. The puppies are currently 18 days old, so I'm crossing my fingers we get a good 10 days more in this period. This week features classical music, habituation music, blow dryer, nail grinder, clippers and vacuum sounds. Additionally, since the puppies are better able to move around, we will be reorganizing their whelping box and creating some new challenges for them. We will be introducing concepts like sound mats and wet feet. The puppies will also be given small obstacles to climb over. We will soon also be introducing their first mush. Puppy mush is a gruel-like consistency food that we give the puppies when they are first learning how to eat. As they grow and develop, the food will become thicker and chunkier, until they finally transition to hard kibble. In the meantime, we will be watching for when the puppies begin eagerly running to the bowl, so we can start training them to come when called.

Cassie's puppies are 2 weeks old and doing fantastically! they moved out of their secluded room & into a slightly more open area. they're eyes and ears are now open and they are really starting to move around like drunken sailors.

Cassie's Back to School kids got their 1st experience with Mush. it was a slow start, but they got the hang of it eventually. and of course, they had to go swimming in the mush.
